Sunday, August 07th at 1:30 pm. I’ll be hosting a comics-making workshop at one of NY’s coolest bookstores, WORD in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Here is the official event description:

Join two-time New York Times bestselling writer-illustrator Dave Roman for a comics workshop for kids! He’ll introduce you to his great new graphic novel, Astronaut Academy (a staff favorite!) and lead an interactive workshop on creating your own comics. Roman is the creator of Agnes Quill: An Anthology of Mystery, has contributed stories to the Flight series, and has written comics and manga for X-Men and The Last Airbender. Recommended for ages 8+, all ages welcome.

About Dave

Dave Roman is the author of several graphic novels including Astronaut Academy: Zero Gravity, Teen Boat! and Agnes Quill: An Anthology of Mystery. He has contributed stories to Explorer: The Mystery Boxes, Nursery Rhyme Comics, and is the co-author of two New York Times bestselling graphic novels, X-Men: Misfits and The Last Airbender: Zuko’s Story. Roman is a graduate of the School of Visual Arts and worked as a comics editor for the groundbreaking Nickelodeon Magazine from 1998 to 2009. He lives in NYC with his wife, and fellow comic artist, Raina Telgemeier.
